Portfolio v4 Now with 50% more squiggly lines.
I have finally, after almost two years, gotten to work on something for myself. This portfolio was getting a bit neglected, so I decided it was time for a complete makeover.
First of all, I threw everything away and decided it would be for the best to start over, as the old code wasn’t worth salvaging in the long run. For the new site, I came back to my good old friend, Astro.
If you don’t know what Astro is, it’s a framework for creating super-fast websites that is very simple to use, and works almost something like React or Angular.
This framework has been super helpful in teaching me how to use web components, props, lazy loading and other little things that make this framework so awesome to use, especially for someone who only has extensive knowledge on HTML and CSS (I don’t really like using JavaScript for anything that isn’t that demanding).
Picking out what “stack” I will use for my site was much easier than getting an idea for the design itself, as this was the first time in years I was building something for myself, I had no idea where to even start.
Thanks to websites like Siteinspire, I took a couple of ideas here and there from the listed websites, and finally managed to come up with a simple, modern design.
